Brief

Mabfield is an alternative music platform from Ireland. It needed an identity and a website, built to feel at home in alternative music culture and flexible enough to hold together everywhere it lived: socials, print and ongoing content.

The interesting constraint was self-imposed. Rather than a broad, catch-all toolkit the whole system would be fully monochrome and entirely 3D, drawing on a 90s reference point.

Pulling that off meant a language tight enough to stay recognisable across very different formats but rich enough not to feel one-note.

Outcome

I built a 3D-based identity with assets and motion pieces designed and built in Spline, kept strictly monochrome, with the 90s references giving it a specific attitude rather than a generic retro feel.

Working in 3D meant the identity could move, the assets could be reframed and recombined for different placements and the same core language could scale from a social post to a printed piece to the site itself.

The result was a single, flexible system that stayed coherent and distinctive wherever it appeared, with the website as its fullest expression.
